1. How do I get a library card?
To sign-up for a library card patrons need to show some form of ID with a current address at the circulation desk. Examples include: driver's license, a bill, or a student ID. Cards are issued for immediate use and may be used the same day they are issued. Patrons that are 18 and under will need to have a parent or legal guardian complete a permission slip before a card can be issued. Please notify the library if your card is lost or stolen so that we can prevent others from using your card.

5. I want to place a hold on an item that is checked out, or that another library in the system has. How do I do place a hold on such an item?
You can place holds while at the library or while using the library's online catalog (accessible online at: https://wlso.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/westfield/).

  • When you've found the item on our library's web catalog, click on the words Place Hold.
  • After this, a login screen will appear. You will need to type in the entire number from the back of your library card under the words Library Card Number. DO NOT TYPE IN SPACES OR DASHES IN YOUR LIBRARY CARD NUMBER. Next to your library card number, type in your PIN. Your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number.
  • Click on Login. A Place a Hold screen will appear. Please check to see that Westfield is the pickup location.
  • Click on Submit Hold (Note: If you get a message saying your attempt has been unsuccessful, please check to make sure you typed in the correct numbers. If you've typed in the correct numbers, but are still getting an unsuccessful message, you may not have a PIN number, please contact the library at 608-296-2544 to set one up).
  • You will receive a notice in the mail when the item arrives at the library for you.

6. Can I renew an item from my computer at home?
Yes! It is easier and faster to renew your item through the online catalog or on the Winnefox Library App.

  • Simply log in to your account on the library's online catalog.
  • You will need to type in your Library Card Number and your PIN number (the last four digits of your phone number.)
  • Click in the empty box next to the title of the item you would like to renew. A check mark should appear.
  • Now click Renew Items. If your item is renewable, your item should be renewed (always double check.) If you still have a question contact the librarian.

7. What are the prices for copies, faxes, and scans?
The price for photocopies or printing is $.10 per page for black & white copies and $.50 per page for color copies. The price for faxes is $1.00 per page to send and $.10 per page to receive.  The price for scanning to email or scanning to a memory stick is free.
